Gulf oil spill?
Can we please stop referring to this tragic unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico as a spill? If I’m carrying a glass of milk in my hand and I trip, that’s a spill. If a tanker in Alaska ruptures and dumps all its oil in the water that’s a spill. This is an oil hemorrhage of the first order worthy of its own name, as they do with hurricanes. I suggest calling it David for Deepwater Avoidable Volcanic Industrial Disaster.
